What a mistake. When I typed the email about the blog, my au revoir turned into arrivederci some how. We are off to France, not Italy.
It was a short but good night sleep last night. There was no anxiety as to the outcome of the Stanley Cup. And we had an early evening flight with no connections to Paris.
Sharon had spent the night on her way back from Watertown and she left around 9:30. Barbara and Charles had driven up from Louisville to be able to fly directly to Paris. So it was a relaxed day and we headed off to the airport around 3:15. Dropped the car off at Globe and headed to the airport. We all had TSA pre check so security was a breeze.
Grabbed a quick bite at TGIF to tide us over till the 7:27 flight. Got to the gate and saw that the plane was right on schedule.
We were just about ready to board when a delay is announced. It wasn't good when we saw 2 men under the plane.
Got a text that the departure was then going to be 1:30 am. OY!!! Then they corrected it to 11:45. At least I could listen to the Pirates Rockies game. Taillon pitched a great 5 Innings and the Bucs ended up winning 7-2.
So they decided that it was an oil seal on one of the engines and they were flying in the part from Atlanta. Dont' they stock parts in Pittsburgh?
And so we sat until 12:30 when we finally boarded the plane. ETA in Paris - 2:46. So off we went. See you on the other side of the pond.
