Chambersburg - Saturday, 3 June 2017

It was a beautiful morning in Chambersburg today. Up and had breakfast at the hotel and then off to campus. I got there a bit early and had a chance for some quiet time. The campus was quiet except for the sound of the birds singing. I don't think that when we were students we really appreciated the serenity and beauty that could be had there.

The state of the college message was delivered by Dr. Mistick. Wilson has seemed to make that critical turn to once again becoming a viable and energized college. It is good to see and hope that it will continue.

After the Alumnae Association meeting we made our way to the dining room for the Annual Alumnae Luncheon. It is always so impressive to see the parade of the reunion classes. The 50th year always brings back the most sisters. So wonderful also to see members of the classes of 1942 and 1947.

We all stood and wiped a tear as we sang our Alma Mater - Mid a Group of Pines and Maples

After lunch a walk to the Hankey Center to see an exhibit on the Empowerment of Women in Athletics. Walked back to the chapel for the awards presentation with President Emerita, Gwen Jensen. I had never met her since she came to Wilson right after I graduated. She is charming and erudite.

After the awards 8 of us left for The Copper Kettle for dinner. Our favorite haunt, tho in a different location,  when we were students, it never ceases to disappoint. Wonderful prime rib and great conversation.

Then off to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Pens vs. Predators game with a friend. We were vociferous, but to no avail as the Pens lost.

Back to the hotel room about 11 just in time to see the end of the Pirates - Mets. Also not a good outcome as they lost 4-2.
